FAQ
Questions, answered straight
- How accurate is the spam trigger score?
- It's a weighted match against a list of phrases known to hurt inbox placement, not a live inbox-placement test — no third-party tool (including ours) can guarantee exactly what Gmail or Outlook will do with a given email. Treat a high score as "worth rewriting this line," not as gospel.
- Which ESPs can I connect?
- beehiiv, Kit (formerly ConvertKit), and Substack today. The connection is read-only — we pull your subscriber count and open rate to verify your reach, and nothing else.
- Is the ESP connection safe? What do you do with my API key?
- Your API key is encrypted at rest (AES-256-GCM) before it ever touches the database, and it's only decrypted server-side at the moment we sync your stats. We never request write access — there's no scope in our integration that could let us send on your behalf or change your account.
- How do you decide who I get matched with for a swap?
- Effective reach — your subscriber count times your open rate — compared to other newsletters in the same niche, within 20% of yours in either direction. That's it. No manual curation, no paying to rank higher.
- What actually happens when I request a swap?
- The other creator gets your request along with a generated tracking link. What you agree to do with each other — when to send, what to say — happens between the two of you; we're the matchmaker, not the middleman.
- What happens to my data if I cancel?
- Your newsletters, audit history, and swap requests stay in your account — cancelling just drops you back to the Free tier's limits. Nothing gets deleted unless you delete it yourself.
- Do you have an API?
- Not yet. If that's something you need, the /features page's checks are all built from a self-contained module — reach out and it's worth discussing.
